Yamaha FZ6 – My Baby

I got my bike on Tuesday this week and I’ve been so busy riding it that I haven’t had a chance to post about it. I’ve put on about 223 miles so far. It’s probably the coolest thing I’ve ever owned. Nothing I’ve ever had my hands on even comes close to this.

I’ve been putting around Rochester a little bit with it, and I took a trip back home. The best part has been red lights. I pray for the light to be red when I get there. It gives me another chance to see what my 0-60 time can be. I’m just amazed at how fast this bike can go, and how much power it has even in the lower end of the tachometer.

I’m supposed to keep the rpms under 7000 for the first 600 miles. 7000rpm in 6th gear makes for a speed of about 83mph. Give or take 5mph. It has 5000rpm left on the tach that I can’t even use until I burn off another 800 miles of road. I’m itching to get them out of the way as fast as I can. I’ve been calling old friends, and trying to find people to visit for no other reason than enjoying the weather and getting some miles on my bike.

83 is pretty fast. (especially when inches from the pavement) Something strictly reserved to straight roads with no traffic, and absolutely no animals, debris, or last but not least law enforcement. Now, I don’t plan to race around like that too much, because it’s illegal, and not the safest thing in the world. If I could find a way to get some track time in. Or some closed course riding.. that would be awesome.

I bought a sweet helmet to go with the bike that’s DOT and SNELL approved for those of you concerned with the safety and security of my brain. I also bought an interchangeable visor with it. I can go between clear for night time, and mirror tint blue for day time. The mirror tint is awesome.

I’m still in the market for a riding jacket, but will probably settle on blue and black joe rocket leather jacket. They look awesome, and have more protective armor than you can shake a stick at. After that I need to invest into some boots that’ll protect my ankles and all of that good stuff. My brown leather shoes have been collecting bugs these past few days, along with everything else attached to me. Bug collecting is like a fun sport. You see how big of a bug you can hit. The big juicy ones can leave patches on your helmet or windshield that are a few inches long. It also looks cool to see one hit your visor right in front of your eyes at 65mph. Talk about awesome.

Without further ado, here are some pics of the bike parked in my apartment complex.

nice ass
