Yesterday was Easter. To celebrate we had a feast of glorious proportions.
On Paper Plates:
I drove over with Matt, Jesse, and Heather. Not sure why Matt was celebrating Easter. We thought he should be doing more productive things like shooting RPGs at Egypt. Long story.
Candra made enough Potatoes to feed an entire army:
I had to take a picture of Matt and Lauren just because I felt like it. I was taking pictures of everything. They were there:
The site needed more pics of girls anyway.
Speaking of girls, Heather was there and enjoying some fruit thanks to Lauren:
People played Set! Amy was there for that awesomeness:
And after that we pointed Wii remotes into nothingness:
The Wii was all sorts of fun as usual. I alternated between kicking ass and getting my ass kicked in doubles tennis. There was some Monkey Ball goin on but I just watched that.
Overall it was a great Easter. New people showed up and good food and good times were had by all. We need holidays more often.
Huge thanks to Candra and Lauren for all the food. I have you two to thank for my GINORMOUS stomach. Mmmmm belly.
Comments:
Wow, I just realized all of our female friends in NC are brunettes. This is absolutely awesome, but maybe we need a little variety?
Brendan, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find red heads and blondes. Go.
I am willing to be your honorary blond -- until this position can be filled!
And once my dance class ends in June - I can visit.. I know, I know..
You really do need more female friends of all types. Get more and maybe I will come back.
I didn't see you in the kitchen doing any dishes. Maybe we wouldn't have to use Plastic Interlocking Microwave Safe plates if someone other than Candra and I were doing the dishes.
"If you have a problem with it, it's make your own dinner next time, (bitches)!" - Candra
Get to the gym and stop blaming all that jiggling on us!!
I accept! When do I start? What sort of compensation am I working towards?

Just upgraded my Gallery to 2.2.
The feature I've been looking forward to in this version is autorotation of images based on EXIF orientation data.
When I tilt the camera to take a vertical pic the camera knows and writes this to the .jpg file. Gallery then auto rotates the file when I upload it. Friggin awesome. Can't wait to upload some pics to find out how it works.
Plan to upload Easter pics tomorrow sometime. W00t.

I was hanging out at East Village the other night and I was referred to as "Talky McTalkerson".
If you know me at all (which I assume you do since you're here), you'll immediately see the sarcasm.
I started thinking about this. I'm usually really quiet when we go out. Some nights I'm more talkative than others, but in general I'm very withdrawn in most social settings. Not to say that I'm not paying attention, just that I don't usually have too much input on things. I like to think about them for... lets say.. 3 days.. and then I'll have something to say.
Maybe my brain is just slower. Maybe I just like to let things stew. I'd say I don't have much access to the inner workings of my head.
It's like a black box.
I throw in random data, and several days later fully formed and well thought out ideas just magically appear out of freaking nowhere. The days in the interim period can involve drinking, video games, working, but I have no recollection of thinking about the input until random ideas spawn out of nowhere.
It's interesting.
Back to the talkative part. I wonder if my life would be better / different if I were a little more talkative and a little more outgoing. I think definitely different. Better is so subjective though. I sort of like the process of slowly getting to know people or letting them get to know me. And sometimes I just have to wonder what it would be like to be really social and meet new friends every weekend.
I hate the friends I already have though ;) (j/k) I don't know if I could deal with any more. But seriously, having fewer friends is a nice strategy, because that means your relationship to each individual has that much more meaning.
Time for Easter dinner at Brendan's place. I'll let you know how that goes.

I spent most of today learning about certs and CAs.
Wikipedia helped out a bit here.
I just woke up this morning and said to myself.. "Man, I wonder how certs work. I used to know, or thought I understood, but I just don't get it anymore"
After I spent some time learning about certs I also contemplated obtaining some of my own signed by a root CA.
I could get one from one of the big companies and spend tons of money, but I decided to go the free route. The only problem with self signed certs is that everyone gets prompted to accept the validity of the cert since there was no trusted third party to say "yeah, this guy's shit is cool. no worries"
Well I found a site StartCom based out of Israel that will sign certs for free. This wouldn't be anything too special since I could do this myself.. BUT StartCom is added by default in the latest releases of Firefox as a trusted CA.
This means when you use Firefox to go to https://bbbburns.com you won't be prompted. I find this awesome and better than signing my own certs. For just a small amount you can use their next level of service which allows you * wildcard certs. I'm still debating this one as it would make my life a lot easier for getting a cert for both my web server "bbbbburns.com" and my mail server "stewie.bbbburns.com" with the same cert. Or I could just go through the process of getting a cert for each.. /shrug
Not that I even NEED certs for my stuff as I'm usually the only one accessing it over a local LAN. It's more of a mental exercise really.
The next step is to get my imaps up and running with a CA signed cert.
Msg me of you want your own @bbbburns.com email address.
I've got to migrate my qmail server to something else in the near future anyway so I'll also probably be setting up addresses for
@bbbburns.com
@fuckweresmart.com
@nothingappropriate.com
I'd like to use burns@fuckweresmart for all of my work email. I think that would be a good time. Don't you?
